Why Rent Commercial Property in Birmingham

Birmingham was once labelled the first manufacturing town in the world and was at the forefront of the Industrial Revolution in the UK. Today remnants of Birmingham's industrious past remain with its economic profile containing a variety of businesses that specialise in highly-skilled trades.

Consequently, our industrial units and warehouse space to let in Birmingham is ideal for businesses looking to take advantage of the high levels of creativity and innovation that exist in the West Midlands.

In fact, the city's five Universities contribute to the city's research and innovation base with tens of thousands of students located in Birmingham every academic year. It’s also worth noting the 20 universities within 60 minutes of Greater Birmingham, three of which are Russell Group institutions. All of which provides potential avenues for expanding your business with many skilled graduates employable.

Impeccable nationwide connectivity

Due to its central location, Birmingham is the focal point to all major transport networks across the UK. Both the M6 and M5 run parallel to Birmingham while the city's Birmingham New Street railway station provides high-speed rail connections between London and Scotland. Birmingham Airport is also a bustling terminal with domestic flights and international flights to Europe, India, North America and more.

Birmingham and the wider West Midlands area is primed for growth

The cost-of-living crisis has hit hard across the UK, but Birmingham and the Greater West Midlands region is hoping to come out the other side unscathed. Law firm Irwin Mitchell recently teamed up with the Centre for Economics and Business Research (Cebr) to anticipate future growth prospects in 50 UK locations.

In Q4 2023, the study shows Birmingham’s economy will experience a 1.1% year-on-year growth in its GVA, reaching £29.6 billion. That’s strong numbers when you consider Coventry and Wolverhampton are forecasted to yield 0.5% and 0.1% GVA growth respectively.

The wider West Midlands area is also set to benefit from being named as one of eight new ‘investment zones’ across the UK. The scheme, which is underpinned by £80 million of fresh investment across five years, is aimed at turbocharging research and development in the UK’s industries with the highest growth potential.

It’s also worth noting that the West Midlands as a whole is one of five areas set to meet or surpass the UK average annual GVA growth of 2.1% between 2024 and 2026.
