Situated on the north of the River Nene lies Wellingborough, with a population of around 50,000 and growing it is one of the most influential areas in the county of Northamptonshire. As part of the Milton Keynes South Midlands (MKSM) study, the UK government highlighted the town as an emerging commercial area in the coming decades. As part of the spotlight it is hoped as many as 12,400 new jobs will be created in the area during this time.
Wellingborough is within an hour of London with its links to London St Pancras International via the Midland Main Line railway, while its A45 dual carriageway also connects the town directly to the A14 and M1 which links to the east and west of the UK.
Primarily expanded as a town from London overspill, Wellingborough boasts its very own 'Town Centre Action Plan' with a local economy that appears to be diversifying greatly into wholesale markets, logistics and service-based sectors that provide exciting opportunities for employment.
