Find the perfect commercial property to rent in the East Midlands
Although the East Midlands is a region that’s been founded upon industrial roots, many of its major towns and cities are rapidly evolving, with service-based sectors beginning to rule the roost. The region is also becoming a key hub for retail, manufacturing and food processing companies. The main reason for the growth of retail and food processing sectors in the East Midlands is largely for logistical reasons, with close proximity to the M1, M6 and A1 motorways.
Furthermore, businesses can become increasingly global with their products and services thanks to East Midlands Airport, which offers direct links to many leading European commercial hubs. Two of the UK’s mainline railways also serve the East Midlands, providing direct links into London St Pancras and London King’s Cross, as well as high-speed access to the North of England.
Plans are afoot to introduce the East Midlands in the second phase of the High Speed 2 railway project, which would create a new high-speed rail link between Birmingham and Leeds. It’s proposed that Toton would become the home of the East Midlands ‘hub’ station on this new line.
The cities of Leicester and Nottingham were primarily manufacturing hubs in the 20th century, but the digital age has fostered new creative industries here, with graphic, interior and textile design and digital media companies thriving here. Both Leicester and Nottingham are both well-renowned ‘student cities’, with multiple universities ensuring a vast student population and an impressive pool of talented graduates for business to choose from.
At Pall Mall Estates, we have a great range of commercial space across the East Midlands, ranging from retail units with prominent shop fronts through to feature-laden offices and light industrial spaces in some of the best-connected industrial parks.
